+ What breads do i get to choose from?
You don't! This is a baker's choice service. Take comfort in the knowledge that we're making you something delicious, something nutritious, something fantastic, every week. If you have gluten or wheat sensitivity, don't worry, we have an option for you; read more about the options here. If you have allergies or are vegan we've got you covered too, just fill in the "allergies" line on your subsciption form.
+ HOW DOES THE PICK-UP WORK EXACTLY?
Once you have paid your membership deposit and selected your preferred pick-up day & location you are ready to start picking up your order. You will be sent an email reminder on your billing day and pick-up day each week. On your pick-up day, just walk into your pick-up location during regular business hours and go over to the Lakehouse Foods display. You will find a reusable cotton tote bag with your name on it, this is your bread order, take it home!
+ HOW DO THE REUSABLE TOTE BAGS WORK?
We put your name on two reusable tote bags; when you go to to pick up your first order just find the one with your name on it and take it home. When you come the following week to pick up your second order make sure to bring that first tote. Again, find the bag with your name on it and take that one home, leaving your empty bag behind. Every week when you pick up your order you'll swap your empty tote bag for the full one.
+ What's the best way to store my bread?
If your going to be consuming your loaf in a day or two then it's totally fine to leave it in the reusable tote bag and store it in a cool dry cupboard or bread box. If you're bread is around for more than 2 days it's good to keep it in a plastic bag or a plastic alternative (such as a waxed cotton wrap) to help retain moisture. This will lead to a slight softening of the crust, but that's to be expected. At normal room tempurature and out of sunlight your loaf should last about 5 days, If you've still got some bread at that point (or a little sooner if your kitchen is particularly warm) the best thing to do is slice the remainder of the loaf and stick it in the freezer in a plastic bag or suitable alternative. Remove and toast slices as desired.
BONUS TIP: You can quickly and easily bring your loaf to a near fresh-baked state should the occasion call for it (dinner party etc.). First apply some water to the outside of your loaf, this could be anything from lightly misting with a spray bottle to litterally holding it under a running faucet, depending on how dry or stale the bread has become (if there's a cut end face it downward in the sink so the water isn't pouring directly insto the crumb). Next pop the bread in an oven at 310f until it has warmed and crisped, this should take 5-10 minutes depending on the size of the loaf and how wet it is. Enjoy!
+ Can I change my loaf size?
Absolutely! If your not sure what size loaf to choose, don't sweat it, it's very easy to pick a new size any time. To change your loaf size sing into your Member Profile from the Members Page, or follow this link. In your Profile click on the "billing" tab and in the row that reads "Plan Amount" click "edit." From there a dropdown menu will allow you to select any loaf size and type.
+ DO I NEED TO BRING ID?
Nope. Just walk into your pick-up location, find your personalized tote bag on the Lakehouse Foods display rack, leave us your other tote bag, and go about your day.
+ WHAT DO I DO IF I FORGET TO BRING MY TOTE BAG?
If you forget to bring your empty tote when you go to pick up your bread, or if you happen to be out already and want to pop into your pick-up loaction and grab it, you've still got an option. Just find your filled tote on the rack as usual, take the bread out of it, and leave it hanging where it is. That way we'll have something to put your loaf into the following week.
+ HOW DOES BILLING WORK?
You will be billed for your subscription every week, two days before your pick-up day (e.g. if you pick up on Sunday your billing day is Friday). You can cancel your order any week, but you must do so before your BILLING day.
+ CAN I HAVE A FRIEND PICK UP MY ORDER?
Yes! Your order will always be marked with the name you gave us. If a friend is picking up your order for you they'll need to know a) Where and when to pick up, and b) The name on the tote bag. All they have to do is walk in and find the right bag. Make sure they know to either bring your empty tote and leave it, or leave the tote on the rack where it is.
+ WHAT IF I'D LIKE TWO LOAVES A WEEK?
If you want two loaves of bread per week just add a second subscription using the same email address. You'll have to put in your info and choose your pick-up location again, and we realize the process is a little tedious. For the time being this is the best way for us to facilitate multi-loaf orders, we appreciate the extra effort.
+ CAN I PUT MY ORDER ON HOLD?
Yes! You can do so with our "Deactivate / Reactivate" form on the MEMBER PAGE. Make sure you put your plan on hold before your BILLING day. When you're ready to reactivate your plan use the same form with the relevant information. Don't lose your tote! :)
+ WHAT HAPPENS IF I FORGET TO PICK UP MY ORDER?
You will be charged as usual. Depending on the location you may be able to go the following day to pick up your bread (don't worry it'll still be good for a while).
+ HOW DO I WITHDRAW FROM THE PROGRAM?
If you'd like to withdraw from the program entirely and be reimbursed for your membership deposit please follow the steps as laid out at the bottom of the MEMBER PAGE.
